Make your weight loss journey fun!!
This might sound insane to some people, but if you want the absolute best long-term results you need to make your weight loss journey as fun as possible.
At some point, you’re going to hit your target weight, and in order to sustain that new weight for good…
You’ll be relying on the habits that you’ve built during your weight loss journey.
If this weight loss has been achieved with hunger, cravings, and suffering, then it’s very likely you’ll put that weight back on again
However, if you found a way to enjoy the journey.
If you built positive habits…
If you built a better relationship with food.
If you learned to appreciate that making positive decisions for yourself does far more than just support your weight loss goals.
Then you’re much more likely to be able to maintain that weight long-term
“Fun” can look different to each person.
But you definitely can find an exercise routine that you enjoy and healthy food that you like to eat.
This might sound strange, but trust me, from my experience working with hundreds of clients on their body transformations…
You can find enjoyment in the gym if the routine is right for you.
As you see progress, as you notice things like increased energy and increased strength, you will start to enjoy those sessions.
That’s where the routine starts to build, and the good habits kick in.
Suddenly you go from dreading your next session to looking forward to training.
The same goes for your nutrition!
It’s a very common misconception, probably the fault of fitness influences and social media, that food either has to be boring or super complicated to make.
I’m not ambitious in the kitchen.
I’m quite lazy with food prep, but I get over 200 grams of protein a day, and I really enjoy my food.
Rather than me explaining this in detail here, why don’t you check out our free training guide, “The Busy Person’s Guide to Healthy Eating,” which will give you loads of actionable info?
The final point I want to make is about enjoying life in general…
You shouldn’t be missing social occasions because of your weight loss journey.
You shouldn’t be giving up time with friends or family.
Not when you can do it all.
It’s ok to dial back your goals slightly, to allow you to enjoy the process more!
I think this video I’ve got on YouTube is a great place for you to start:
“If I wanted to lose over 25lbs…this is what I’d do”
That’s it from me!
Until next Friday.
